Denver International Airport, or DEN, is a major airline hub in the United States. Since it opened in 1995, DEN has consistently won top honors from publications like Business Traveler Magazine and the Wall Street Journal.
DEN offers travelers many amenities that make the trip easier, including convenient rail service to downtown Denver, free Wi-Fi access throughout the airport, and great customer service. It has been named the best airport in the United States by USA Today readers and the fifth-best airport (60-70 million passengers) in the world in the 2020 Skytrax World Airport Awards, the only airport in North America to earn that designation.
The airport is primarily located around the Jeppesen Terminal, which is comprised of three concourses connected by an automated people mover that allows travelers to move quickly through security. Concourse A has a pedestrian bridge that affords passengers views of taxiing airplanes and the Rocky Mountains.
You’ll find plenty of places to grab a bite or drink at Denver Airport. The restaurants and bars in each of the concourses offer a variety of menus, with some serving a more upscale selection and others featuring healthier choices.
Some restaurants also offer a full bar with a wide selection of cocktails. Other popular options include Caribou Coffee, Subway and McDonald’s.
If you’re looking for something a little more high-end, try Denver Chophouse or Elway’s.
There are also several fast food chains to choose from in each of the terminal’s concourses, with places such as Caribou Coffee, Subway, Starbucks and KFC. You’ll also find many health-conscious eateries, including the Boulder Beer Tap House and Cantina Grill in Concourse A and Root Down in Concourse C.
The airport is also home to an ice skating rink and mini golf course in the winter, as well as an outdoor plaza that hosts pop-up parks during the summer.
DIA is one of the largest and busiest airports in the United States, with more than 40 airlines and nearly 20 international and domestic destinations served. It’s considered the premier gateway to the Colorado Front Range Urban Corridor.
You’ll find a number of hotels near DIA, including the Westin Denver Airport Hotel. The upscale hotel features 519 guest rooms and suites that offer WiFi, soundproofing, and keyless entry. The bathrooms are modern and feature walk-in showers and separate bathtubs.
Pets are welcome at this Denver airport hotel, too. Bring your four-legged friend with you and they’ll enjoy a dog bed, food bowl and mat to ensure they feel right at home while you’re away from home.
There are also shuttles that run to and from the airport to many of the hotels and rental car agencies, so you can get to your destination without stressing out about parking and transport. Some hotels even provide their own free airport shuttle.
